Teej bajar exhibition kicks off today

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 27 - With just under two weeks remaining for Nepali Hindu Women's biggest festival teej, an exhibition on it kicked off in the capital today. The exhibition organized by a non-governmental organization called 'Launa Kehi Garau' at Asian Village Party Palace in Sukedhara, will last for three days.

Over two dozen stalls have been kept at the exhibition including the ones for daily consumable goods like spices, chilly, pickles and apparels. Vice-president of Image Channel Indira Manandhar inaugurated the exhibition where she stressed that all regions, castes and communities must unitedly celebrate festivals in the society adding that racial discrimination must end.

Speaking at the programme, chairman of 'Launa Kehi Garau' Sunita Gurung said they had been organizing such exhibition every year with the objective of educating each and every under-privileged children.

On the occasion, the organization honored Dhading based media person Rameshwor Karki for his role in trying to bring about change in the lives of old aged people living in caves by publishing the latter's stories.
