Ancient Kingdom With Mysterious Caves Discovered In Mustang

There’s no questioning that our country Nepal is full of wonders, natural or historical. And recently there’s been another discovery that only adds more evidence to the statement. An ancient kingdom with thousands of caves were found in the former kingdom of Mustang. Hidden within the Himalayas, 155ft from the ground, these human-build caves are said to be one of the World’s greatest archaeological mysteries. Thousands of holes are carved into the fragile, sandy-coloured cliff in a gorge so large it dwarfs the Grand Canyon. The astonishing number of caves, some dug into the cliffside, others tunnelled from above are thousands of years old but who built them and why remains a mystery. Adventure photographer, Cory Richards joined climber Pete Athans, archaeologist Mark Aldenderfer and a team of explorers to unearth the hidden relics of the ancient and remote caves.

Pioneering Nepali Cartoonist ‘Jyapoo’ Passes Away

Ujjwol Kundan ‘Jyapoo’, one of the pioneers of the cartoon scene of Nepal, passed away Sunday morning at the age of 59.

A talented cartoonist with a bold sense of humor, Jyapoo is mostly known for his satirical illustrations and caricatures published during the Panchayat regime. He worked for Saptahik Manch and Saptahik Bimarsha consecutively during that time. When the censorship of the then autocratic rule hit hard at his freedom of expression, Jyapoo submitted his satiric cartoons to be published in the Indian weekly, Din Man, which only increased his popularity and further strengthened his ability as a cartoonist.

Rabin Sayami, Art Editor at Nepali Republic Media, remarked, “He was an exemplary cartoonist. The fineness of his lines and the vividness of his facial caricatures are incredible.”

Jyapoo is also applauded for his role as the chief editor for the first four editions of popular art magazine ‘Bhadbhailo’, which was published every year on the occasion of Gai Jatra and gave artists and cartoonists the opportunity to express themselves freely without much censorship. Besides, he also did illustrations for many primary level course books, and also contributed cartoons and illustrations for UNICEF’s comic books for children.

Sharad Ranjit, cartoonist and one of Jyapoo’s contemporaries, says that the Nepali cartoon fraternity will forever miss his presence. “His work will never fail to inspire us,” he says.
Born in 1954 at Nhusaal, Jhochhen in Kathmandu, Jyapoo was suffering from cancer. He is survived by a son and a daughter.

Turtle Boy Of Colombia

Didier is a six-year old boy struggling to lead a normal life in a remote part of war-torn Colombia. He was born with a rare condition, Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN), a particularly unusual brown birthmark. At birth Didier’s CMN lay flat, covering 40% of his body surface and enveloping his back and abdomen. It has since grown outwards, morphing into a giant protruding mole that resembles a turtle’s shell. Didier’s mole now significantly restricts his movements and way of life. Doctors in Colombia are increasingly concerned that the mole could threaten the young boy’s life by turning cancerous.

Didier was born to Luz, a single mother caring for a young family in one of Colombia’s most dangerous regions. Here drug trafficking and kidnapping are rife and electricity and running water scarce. Attitudes to Didier and his mother are tinged with superstition, many blaming Luz for her son’s condition; In a land steeped in folklore, locals believe that Didier’s condition is a result of his mother glancing up at a solar eclipse and thus harming her unborn child. Luz questions whether that innocent glance has condemned Didier to a life as “turtle boy”.

As with all CMNs Didier’s condition is incurable. One in 20,000 children are born with large or multiple CMN, however none on Didier’s scale has been treated before. More worrying still, 25% of CMN diagnosed on the skin are linked to nevi in the brain. In some cases these moles become malignant and doctors are powerless to treat them. Didier’s mother is now desperately concerned for her son whose only hope lies in a complex, risky and costly operation to remove his giant mole.

With the scarcest of economic resources Luz has for years only been able to dream of a better life for her son. However, just as his situation has become desperate fortunes seem to have changed for Didier.  Thanks to a local TV news report, awareness of the “Turtle Boy” has spread throughout Colombia and beyond, unleashing a wave of public sympathy and pledges of money for Didier and Luz to travel to Bogotá to receive crucial medical care and the operation that will transform his life.   Luz’s prayers have been answered.

Because of the complex nature of the surgery the Colombian team have invited a leading surgeon from the UK’s renowned Great Ormond Street Children’s’  Hospital to fly to Bogotá to oversee the operation and advise on the extensive skin grafts to re-build the little boy’s back. It will be a long journey to recovery but finally Didier and Luz can realize freeing Didier of his “turtle boy” stigma and the chance to start a new life.   For the first time, Didier will be able to attend school and his mother will now feel able to have him baptized.

Turtle Boy is a story of a massively challenging and life changing operation and an emotional journey to restore one young boy’s health and a mother’s faith in life.

Life After Death: New Jersey Woman Turns Up Alive 13 Days After Family Mistakenly Buries Lookalike! -

She’s alive! A woman whose family thought they buried her were surprised when she turned up two weeks later, alive!

Via NYPost reports:

Carrie Minney could have sworn the woman in the casket was her 50-year-old daughter.

When Minney and the rest of Sharolyn Jackson’s family attended her viewing, funeral and burial in New Jersey on Aug. 3, they noted that Jackson’s nose looked thinner. But they figured something had happened to it during the embalming process.

The truth is far stranger: The woman they buried that day was not, in fact, their loved one but a lookalike. Jackson showed up at a Philadelphia hospital on Aug. 16, several weeks after she had been reported missing and 13 days after her family thought they had laid her to rest at Colonial Memorial Park in Hamilton, N.J.

“There was really a strong resemblance, a really strong resemblance,” Minney, 69, said Friday in a phone interview from her home in Trenton, N.J. “She looks so much like Sharol they could be sisters.”

Jackson was reported missing around the time that paramedics took a woman who’d been found lying in a Philadelphia street to a hospital, where she died July 20. One of Jackson’s sons and a social worker at Horizon House, where her mother said she had been receiving treatment for drug and mental health problems, viewed pictures of the dead woman’s body and made the identification.

The medical examiner determined the woman died of heat stroke, signed a death certificate and released the body to the family, Philadelphia Department of Health spokesman James Garrow said.

“If someone comes in and they’re a family member and say, ‘That’s my mom,’ that’s generally good enough,” Garrow said.

After Jackson showed up at Pennsylvania Hospital last week, police confirmed her identity through fingerprints. Her son went to the hospital and immediately recognized her.

“He said, ‘That’s my mom. We made a terrible mistake,’” Garrow said.

Philadelphia officials plan to exhume the buried body in hopes of correctly identifying it.

Minney said her daughter remains hospitalized. They’ve spoken only briefly over the phone, and Minney isn’t sure her daughter knows a funeral was held for her.

“I’m still overjoyed,” Minney said. “I got to come down from the joy because somebody else is dead. We don’t know who it is, and it bothers me that somebody else’s daughter is laying in that grave out there.”

Philadelphia’s KYW-TV first reported on the funeral.

Wow, this is something like a miracle. Hopefully Sharolyn is able to make a full recovery soon and she and her family make the most of her “second chance” at life.

We hope they’re able to ID the woman they thought was Sharolyn, what a crazy mistake!

What would you do if you see this in the morning? WATCH VIDEO

Im currently a (guy) junior in high school. 2 days ago I had a friend (who is a girl) come to my house and want to hang at my house; she got into a HUGE fight with her parents( she's my neighbor). Ive been friends with her for a few years so I decided y not, my parents werent home and it was late. I let her take my sister's room (she's in college) and went to bed.

The next morning I came down and she was making eggs for me. At first I was totally surprised becuz it was a school day and the sight of her in her pajamas just shocked me. After breakfast we both walked to school and etc.

Well she walked home(to my house) from school yesterday and I had to help clean out the lab so I stayed after until 5:30. When I came home I totally forgot she was in the house, and walked to take a shower. When I went into the bathroom I saw her fully naked look at herself in the mirror. I stood there with my mouth open(becuz she's hot as ****) for a few seconds until she noticed me. She smiled and asked "dont you knock?" I had no clue what to say so I just left the room.
I didn't see her next morning where I purposely woke up late and waited for her to leave. Im typing this before my exam and Im wondering what to say to her. The fact that she didn't cover up or anything is the part that is making me type this. Does she like me or what?

Also, she's staying at my house for idk how long, my parents left for their anniversery so they wont be back for a few days.
