'Implementation of election code of conduct satisfactory'

Sept.20 - The Election Commission (EC) has said that all political parties and stakeholders have abided by the election code of conducts.

The EC has said that no case of violation of election code of conducts has been noticed so far.

Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav on Thursday said that political parties and possible candidates too have not violated the code of conducts for the Constituent Assembly election scheduled for November 19.

He also added that the implementation of code of conducts was satisfactory this time compared to the erstwhile CA election.

Dr Yadav said that monitoring of the violation of the election code of conducts were on from the central to district levels and the election offices established in all 240 constituencies nationwide.

Commissioner Dr Yadav also said that discussions were underway whether to arrange an officer to monitor the implementation of the election code of conduct in the offices of the Election Officers.

Likewise, the EC said that its serious attention was drawn to the remark made by German Ambassador to Nepal Frank Meykey at a programme in Bhagawatipur of Tanahun district on September 17.

Commissioner Dr Yadav said that the EC was investigating and holding discussions about the statement given by the German Ambassador.

According to media reports, the German Ambassador urged the voters not to cast votes to the political parties that enforce frequent general strikes. (Nepalnews)
